Make a Big Cook Little Cook Timer
Evie and Gyasi show you how to make a timer just like the one from the Big Cook Little Cook cafe.
- 2 paper plates
- Stickers
- Paint - orange, yellow and red
- Scissors (grown-ups use only)
- Card
- Glue stick
- Yellow pipe cleaners
- Modelling clay
- Pencil
Paint one paper plate yellow.
Paint the inner circle of the other paper plate orange.
When the paint is dry, ask a grown-up to cut the orange inner circle out using the scissors.
Fold the circle 4 times to make 8 segments.
Ask a grown-up to cut the orange circle into 8 segments following the fold lines.
Stick the orange segments onto the yellow paint with the glue.
Draw a spoon shape onto the card and ask a grown-up to cut it out, then paint the handle red.
Using modelling clay and a pencil, make a hole in the centre of the plate.
Wrap the pipe cleaner around the middle of the spoon, twist it and feed it through the hole in the plate. Make sure the spoon can spin around.
Decorate the plate with stickers or add numbers around the edge of the plate.
