People have been urged by firefighters to avoid an area of Bognor Regis after a blaze.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS) said it was called to a fire at an "industrial building" on Ockley Road at 6:00 BST.
It said eight fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were on the scene at the height of the blaze.
Eye-witness Steve Brunton told BBC Radio Sussex he saw "thick black smoke" blowing into the surrounding area just after 6:00.

Thick black smoke was blowing into nearby streets at one point, said an eyewitness
He said there was a "little bit of drama" happening on the roads due to closures currently in place on Ockley Road and Argyle Road.
WSFRS have since scaled down their presence, with three fire engines currently in attendance.
"Crews worked hard to bring the fire in a scrap yard under control using jets and foam," said a WSFRS spokesperson.
