Coin Specialist v Jewellery Expert
Auctioneer Hettie Jago takes on dealer Tim Medhurst. The pair start out in Sussex with £200 each and a replica Jaguar.
The road trip features a never-before-seen expert pairing: Hettie Jago, auctioneer, dealer and recent road trip recruit, is up against a relative old hand in the shape of numismatist and dealer Tim Medhurst. Hettie – Somerset-born and currently residing in Nottingham – and Dorset’s own Tim have a replica Jaguar for their week-long shopping extravaganza.
The rummaging starts in Lewes in sunny Sussex. Along the way, Tim uncovers a rather unusual teapot, possibly by famous arts and crafts designer William Hutton. Hettie’s interest is piqued by an art deco figurine of a mouse that looks suspiciously like a rat.
The pair travel to nearby Brighton, where, as prince regent, George IV built his Royal Pavilion. But who’s going to rule the road trip this time around? Our pair start out with £200 each, and the winner will be the expert who comes out on top in the most auctions after their five trips to the sale room.
