The Buddha and the Lotus

Auctioneer extraordinaire Tahmina Ghaffar and sweet-talking dealer David Harper are motoring on in the fourth leg of their road trip.

Tahmina’s determined to come out on top today, so she follows her passions. Sojourning through the south west, Tahmina’s drawn to all things eastern, including Chinese silk lotus shoes, a temple bronze and an Islamic scribe’s tool made out of brass, whereas David casts his net wide on a tea picker’s basket, a tobacco jar and some Georgian furniture.

They stop off in Hereford to explore the cathedral’s amazing, chained library and uncover the stories on its mappa mundi. But as they head to auction, the white gloves are off!
