Poison, memory foam and love poems. Plus original comedy, podcasts, poetry, fiction and more on BBC Upload with Adam Crowther. Upload your work for a chance to get on the BBC.
Comedy sketch and stand-up performer Shirley Halse from Cheltenham has uploaded her skit that’s about how she’s tricked her boyfriend into something that helps her fall to sleep. Writer Neal Mason from Mildenhall is featured with his fiction ‘Victorian Wax Doll’ that imagines the story and history of the toy. Hear how you can get yourself a slot performing at the BBC’s Contains Strong Language Festival via the Words First scheme. Dan Cooper from Gloucester has uploaded his poem ‘Memory Foam’ which looks at how the shape of the mattress forgets your shape after a while.
Weston-super-Mare-based writer Brian Price has written a collection of tales called ‘A Pocketful of Poisons’ and we’ll hear one of them that explores former friends and how they seem to make up, but it’s not quite as it seems. Colin Park transports us back in time to a Somerset allotment in the 1960s with his short story. Chris Campbell was inspired to write a poem by the view from the window he had while staying in Southmead Hospital a few years ago. Somerset poet and spoken word performer Mark De’Lisser is featured with his piece ‘The Mirror of the Heart’.
