A journey through the BBC’s music archives, diving in to share all that was great in 1988.

It was the year that started with Kylie Minogue releasing I Should Be So Lucky and featured hits for groundbreaking female rappers Salt-N-Pepa, as well as Terence Trent D’Arby and Glenn Medeiros.

And it was the debut for music’s most notorious mime artists Milli Vanilli, who had the world at their feet in 1988 but ultimately ended up pop pariahs after the lip-syncing scandal that exposed the fact that Girl You Know It's True was actually a big lie.
