Today, the Isles will see large areas of cloud and a few spells of sunshine in between. Some of that cloud will drift into the mainland coasts but inland parts will stay overall sunnier and milder.

Tonight

Tonight, the Isles will generally remain under cloudy skies and will only see a few occasional clear spells. Light showers are possible in Shetland. On the mainland, chilly with mainly clear skies.

Tuesday

Tomorrow, the Isles and far north-eastern mainland will see variable amounts of cloud as well as some sunshine in between. Towards the south-western mainland, lengthier sunny spells and warmer.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday

Through this week, high pressure will likely stay centred over Scotland and introduce a spell of dry weather for all. Winds will be mostly light and there will be a mix of sunshine and cloud. The mainland and Orkney have a higher chance of seeing cloudier skies at times particularly on Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures will also tend to rise.
